Luis Macias was born in Chicago, IL, to the son of Spanish immigrants. At a very young age, he began playing drums for his mother, world-renowned dancer, singer and bullfighter, La Greca. He later studied traditional Flamenco with the Heredia Gypsies in Spain and attended Florida Atlantic University where he studied Jazz, music theory, and music composition.
Since then, Luis has kept his schedule busy teaching privately and traveling throughout South America, Europe, and Asia, performing and recording with The Platters, The Drifters, Charo, Jazz legend Ira Sullivan, Los Grecos, and the Moonstruck Orchestra.
